Back in 2006, our lives – both professionally and personally, were changing dramatically. Patricia had her long-awaited first newborn, Ben, and we were preparing to move into our new law office in the addition we built to Priscilla’s home. And Patricia was planning to make her home above the office addition and sell her current home.
Needless to say, we were busy and a bit stressed. Of course, it was all good change, but it meant making so many decisions on so many different things.
A few weeks before moving in, I wrote about looking at lights so much that we dreamt about ceiling fans and light bulbs. Plus, there were all the color selections: roofing, siding, gutters, trim, flooring and even paint.
Just looking at all the various “whites” available in wall paint was surprisingly complex. In the end, when the deadline came, we simply chose a color we could remember the name of and seemed appropriate for a law office – Barrister White.
This is how some clients say they feel after talking over their choices for their estate plans. There are usually several decisions about issues they never even thought of, never mind have considered long enough to have confidence in a quick decision – and it is a lot more important than paint color.
